The Protect Training
We've all heard the saying 'Prevention is better than cure'. It is easier to prevent a situation occurring than recovering from the consequences of a terrible event.
I remember when I was scammed by a company in 2019. This company put themselves out there as a coaching company looking for like-minded people to partner with and change lives. Well they certainly did change my life as I was scammed out of a considerable amount of money! They start first by investing in your 'trust bank'. They win your trust so you don't even realise you have been scammed, until you wake up the next morning and as the Nigerian saying goes, 'your eye don clear'!
It took me a long while to recover from this incident, a situation which could have been prevented if I was more diligent in looking out for red flags and other 'tell-tale' signs. In fact this is the first time I have spoken or written publicly about the incident.
Recent studies show that the average adult in the UK spends approximately 76% of their waking hours online. I was shocked to discover this! If we are online for this amount of time, then it is likely that most of the occurrences in our lives will be as a result of this 76% of our time online. This includes getting that job you have been looking for, finding your new home on the property website, booking your holidays, making business contacts and even finding love if you dare. Any of these seemingly innocent acts we carry out online could easily result in a life changing traumatic event.
The Emotional Detox Program© I created is meant to help people heal from emotional pain and trauma. The 2019 incident was one of the experiences I healed from using the strategy in this program. The saying 'experience is the best teacher' does not necessarily mean that it has to be your own experience; you can learn from other people’s experiences.
For this reason, I thought, why not be proactive? As much as the Emotional Detox Program© is here to Help you Heal, we would also like to do what we can to prevent the hurt in the first place. Whether it be a possible hurt through online financial or emotional scams, we want to keep women and girls aware of the possible threats out there and how they can navigate life on the internet with wisdom.
Introducing The Protect Training - Protecting Women & Girls Online.
This is the Emotional
Detox team being proactive! Our symbol for this Training is the Thistle flower,
a flower known for its ability to thrive in harsh conditions. The Thistle
flower represents resilience, protection and strong will. This is what we hope
to achieve in the lives of all attendees through this training.
This free online
training will be held on a date to be confirmed in July. If you think you
might be interested in this training (or you know of any woman or girl that may
benefit from it), send us a message to put your/her name on the waiting list.
I always say, if you are doing something that you cannot share with at least one person you trust, then maybe you should not be doing it. If you can't tell your Mama, (whether she's still in this realm or not), you certainly should NOT be doing it! Talking to someone about what you are up to just might be what saves you, as they will very likely see the whole picture from a perspective that you are not able to see.
We look forward to seeing you, but before then, STAY SAFE!
